The McCowat - Nelson Blues Band takes you back to the 1960's R&B club scene in London; clubs such as Klook's Kleek and The Flamingo where the British blues explosion was born.

Back to the artists of the time; Georgie Fame & The Blue Flames, Zoot Money's Big Roll Band, the Graham Bond Organisation, John Mayall's Bluesbreakers and Alexis Koerner the 'father of British Blues' to name but a few.

Back to the music of that era; a healthy mix of blues, jazz, soul and rock n roll.

The McCowat - Nelson Blues Band features Alan McCowat on guitar and vocals, Mike Nelson on keyboards and vocals, Greg Wynne on bass and vocals, Vince Pavitt on drums and Jim Cook on sax.

In March 2007, the McCowat - Nelson Blues Band performed its debut concert at the Charles Hotel for the Perth Blues Club
